Blue from Wolf's Rain

It was a pleasant surprise that Kawamoto Toshihiru was doing sketches for everyone that time permitted at AX Tokyo. The only downside was that he didn't give a panel. I really liked the style of the guest panels and the information at that con.
It was a tough decision for me on what to ask for. Spike or Shin from Cowboy Bebop came to mind but I had seen many Spikes and wanted something different and I was unsure if he would remember Shin. The rememberance problem was another concern with Gateau from Gundam 0083. I couldn't think of anyone I really liked both the design and the character from Wolf's Rain until it hit me - Blue!
I remember early on in the series, a friend of mine and I had thought it would be neat if Blue turned out to be a wolf, and a good looking one at that. Because the series had been so male centered with only one token female side wolf to date, we didn't consider the possibility Blue was a woman, and a snappy dressing tough, yet innocent, one at that. It's a shame Blue didn't really get much of an ending, I found her relationship with Quint to be very interesting.
