D from Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust

Even in quick sketch form, D is so pretty. It's funny, in a way it reminds me of the reduction Amano might do for quick con sketches, which is somehow fitting.
This sketch was obtained at San Diego Comic-con 2004. Minowa had recently done a beautiful new D piece for a promotional poster that Urban Vision was giving away. However, Minowa didn't seem to recall any of the other character (and was probably interested in getting through as many fans as possible), so there were a few people behind me who were fans of other characters but still walked away with D. It was very nice of Minowa to do the signings, they were quite possible.
I somehow ended up ahead of one of my 'sketch sempai' in line for this signing. He said that I had surpassed him. Me? Never. Sure enough he proved his prowess at other signings that convention and many more at 2005. Still, despite my embarrassment, I think I'm a bit complimented as well.
